University of Georgia New Music FestivalFebruary 13-14 2026Dancz Center for New Music | Hugh Hodgson School of Music The Music Composition program is excited to host the UGA New Music Festival from February 13-14 2026 at the Dancz Center for New Music, Hugh Hodgson School of Music, University of Georgia (Athens, GA). This year’s festival headlining composer is Leah Reid, and the headlining ensemble is Ligament Duo (Will Yager and Anika Kildegaard). As part of the Festival, UGA is hosting Call-for-Scores and Call-for-Performers. This call is open to composers and performers of any age, residing in the United States. APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 30 2025Results will be announced by: November 30 2025 The festival highly values community building and active engagement, making in-person attendance essential for all selected composers and performers. Please note that the University of Georgia is unable to cover travel and accommodation expenses for selected participants. There is no submission fee and no style restrictions. Composers may submit a maximum of two works for consideration. Selected pieces will be performed at the 2026 UGA New Music Festival. Works will be adjudicated on artistic merit and performance feasibility by music faculty of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Please include stereo mixdowns in submissions, in addition to documentation of channel assignments for multichannel works. For ambisonics submissions, please submit as Ambix SN3D (ACN channel ordering) up to 7th order. CALL-FOR-PERFORMERS The Call-for-Performers for the UGA New Music Festival is open to performers of any age residing in the United States. There is no submission fee and no style restrictions. Performers may propose one or two works (total duration not exceeding 25 minutes) for consideration to be included in one of the Festival’s programs. Proposed works must be composed on or after 2010. Applications will be adjudicated on artistic merit and performance feasibility by music faculty of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.
