Atlanta Symphony Composers Workshop at UGA

Six UGA Student Composers had their works selected for the inaugural Atlanta Symphony Composers Workshop at UGA. Annie Leeth, Badie Khaleghian, Catherine Willingham, Jason Abraham, Nikolos Bacote, and Nicholas Gambino will have their orchestral compositions read and rehearsed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Artistic Director Robert Spano in Hodgson Hall on Friday, March 23rd from 1:30-4:00PM. A pre-concert panel discussion with Robert Spano and the student composers will be held before the reading, in Edge Hall from 12:30-1:15PM.

The Atlanta Symphony Composers Workshop at UGA is supported by the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, the President's Venture Fund, and the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.


The Dancz Center for New Music will host the SEACC (Southeast Electroacoustic Composers Collective) Concern on Sunday, February 18th at 5pm. Concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature electroacoustic works by Peter Van Zandt Lane (UGA faculty), David Litke (UGA faculty), Hanna Lisa Stefansson (UGA DMA alumn), Kathryn Koopman (B.M. 2018), Martín Gendelman (University of Southern Georgia), David Peoples (University of North Georgia), Joe Alexander (Mississippi University for Women), Jorge Varigo (University of Tenessee-Knoxville), and William Price (University of Alabama at Birmingham).
